Course Delivery Options

Instructor-Led Online.

The training will be an instructor-led 100% online course, where you will be able to talk to the mentor and solve your problems in real time. It will be run in six 3-hour long sessions.

3 Days Classroom.

The course will take place in a classroom with no more than 15 students in order to maintain a good level of interactivity.

Private Onsite.

The course will take place in your company’s facilities. We limit attendance to no more than 20 students in order to maintain a good level of interactivity.

Pre-requisites

This course is intended for experienced business and data analysts with prior experience in data visualization tools like Tableau, QlikView, and Excel with PowerPivot & Power View and desire to apply similar approaches to Power BI. Exposure to Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service (powerbi.com) is recommended and prior work in Power BI is strongly encouraged.

After this Course

Víctor M. García Sánchez

BI architect and consultant focused in Microsoft technologies with a strong background in several areas such as banking, transportation and public administration. Among his skills can count system integration and data consolidation, data quality, data analysis, dashboards and scorecards development, corporate reporting. Patrick Dubois

Patrick is an experienced Data Specialist who has been guiding clients since 2001 in better understanding and working with their data. His project experiences have revolved around moving and integrating data into new environments, system/process redesigns, data and business rule validation, as well as full implementation of business intelligence solutions at both large and small clients. To that end, Patrick has worked with a variety of tools, but he specializes within the Microsoft BI Suite of Products (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI).

    Project goals

    The Accounting and IT departments decided to go for a comprehensive BI solution based on Microsoft technology in order to carry out different analysis that helps them in decision making, both in the mother company and in the subsidiaries.

    Outcome

    The new platform helped the consolidation and centralization of the company’s information in a corporate Data Warehouse.
    The Accounting Department now has an Excel-based solution that extracts information from the cube to perform analysis and in order to improve reports intended for the Board of Directors.
    Budget loading process, which was a manual and difficult task to integrate, is now automated, and the information is built into the Data Warehouse.
    Every subsidiary Director has now access to analytical reports in Power BI for decision-making.
