What will I learn?
By the end of this course, you will have practiced how to Get Data from various sources, Model your data, Visualize your data, and Share your data with Power BI Desktop and the Power BI Service.
The training objective of the course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge for data integration and advanced analysis using Power BI. Practical use cases are incorporated into the sessions allowing application into real-world situations.
- Import data from heterogeneous sources including Excel, Access, ERP systems, websites, online services, social media, and more.
- Design, refine and optimize data models
- Create analytical calculations using Data Analysis eXpressions (DAX)
- Create interactive reports and dashboards
- Share insights within the organization using content packs and app workspaces

Audience
This course is intended for experienced business and data analysts with prior experience data visualization tools like Tableau, QlikView and Excel with PowerPivot & Power View and desire to apply similar approaches to Power BI.
Requirements
Exposure to Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service (powerbi.com) is recommended and prior work in Power BI is strongly encouraged.

Tom Huguelet
Tom is a technical architect and consultant with 20 years of experience driving the strategy and architecture of innovative information systems and business intelligence solutions for a wide variety of clients and leading technology corporations. Tom prides himself on being a team builder, skilled in designing and delivering engaging technical training initiatives and in mentoring and coaching colleagues to achieve peak levels of productivity, efficiency, and performance.
Patrick Dubois
Patrick is an experienced Data Specialist who has been guiding clients since 2001 in better understanding and working with their data. His project experiences have revolved around moving and integrating data into new environments, system/process redesigns, data and business rule validation, as well as full implementation of business intelligence solutions at both large and small clients. To that end, Patrick has worked with a variety of tools, but he specializes within the Microsoft BI Suite of Products (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI).
